Advanced Digital Imaging: The Ending Part 3

1. Why do I take photographs?
        - At the beginning of this year i never really took pictures for fun. But going through these two courses i have learned that being a photographer is a new hobby of mine. I enjoy going out and look for new ideas for the next project,

2. How has my photography changed because of the work I've done this semester?
        - I believe that my photography has strengthened. I have been able to find what my skills exceed in and where they don't. I found that Motion Blur and Urban decay are my strong suits and my weakness is Tilt Shift.

3. What aspects of your photography do you want to/need to continue to develop?
        - I need to continue to improve in setting up objects to take pictures of, such as "scenes". like what is needed in Tilt Shift.

4. How will you continue to remain active as a photographer? What tendencies do you need to avoid to remain active? What positive habits do you need to cultivate?
          - I plan on joining the visor and being a photographer from the school newspaper. I need to make sure to get things done and set myself up to succeed. What i need to keep doing is to continue to take pictures of subjects that i enjoy; for example sports.

5. In your photographs this semester, give examples of instances that your photography has reached the level of art. Attempt to explain what caused these works to be successful. How can you continue to create such works.
            - I believe that my urban decay photos had the level of art to them. the were clear and I fully reached my potential as a photographer. As I said before i think that if i continue to capture things that i enjoy i can continue to reach my full potential.

Advanced Digital Imaging: The Ending Part 2

1.  Imagery has a huge effect on our faith today. From the beginning of Christianity the human race has used imagery to explain difficult meaning. Each one of the Evangelist used many accounts of imagery. This also strengthens our faith because with imagery comes a more keen understanding.  With the positives also comes the negatives, in this case i mean if there really is a God why would there be so many disasters and terrible happenings that now since digital photography has given us the chance to be informed of? This definitely calls on my faith because i don't understand why a so powerful being would let so much harm into the world. Going back to the beginning of Christianity, the bible has great uses of imagery. all though we might not still be able to fully grasp the idea but because of imagery it helps us understand the subject in  a better sense.

.5. "There is an aggression implicit in every use of the camera. This is as evident in the 1840's and 1850's, photography's glorious first two decades, as in all the succeeding decades, during which technology made possible an ever increasing spread of that mentality which looks at the world as a set of potential photographs."
-  This class has definitely given me the opportunity to look at everyday objects a lot different. When I was taking photos for my "Urban Decay" project I was looking for the dirties or most run-down buildings. But as i edited and really looked at my pictures I realized that these images had a certain  elegance about them, (their own swag) if you will. It was almost like i discovered what the places once were and the memories the building contained.  The Danger of looking at the whole world as a potential photograph is you really would never stop and take in whats around you.
